Born and raised in Alabama, Murray Fincher attended Dartmouth College and graduated from Birmingham-Southern College. Starting out as a reporter and copy editor of The Birmingham News, Fincher went to work for a major corporation, where he was put in charge of Louisiana operations, overseeing the public and political relations involving local, state, and national government entities, including Congress.
