New Book Reveals the Truth, the Whole Truth, and Nothing But the Truth about American Politics -- Which is More Than You Would Get if You Asked a Poli
Denver, CO and Syracuse, NY (PRWEB) November 1, 2007 -- Do politicians scare you? Do the decisions they make cause you to scratch your head, question your hearing, kick the cat? Do political parties, campaigns, and elections turn you ugly? Relax! You're not alone--and help is on the way. With Politics Ain't That Complicated, Paul Dodd provides a basic primer to guide you through the ins and outs of American politics. You'll be armed with the knowledge you need to make it through the next general election!
Author Paul Dodd is a political science professor with decades of government experience under his belt. His latest book Politics Ain't That Complicated is an eye-opening work written for the layperson. He explains the political process and how politicians operate in terms that are clear, straightforward, and easy to follow.
Using a centuries-old model, Dodd shows how the Founding Fathers developed the Constitution, and what influenced them. He uses the same model to shed light on such diverse political figures as Mikael Gorbachev, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, and Adolph Hitler. What do these politicians have in common? What motivates them? Many other familiar figures--from George Washington to our current president, George W. Bush--are also featured.
Dodd further applies the model to analyze historic political events, such as the Bay of Pigs, Watergate, and Iran Contra, as well as current events--for instance, why exactly do we label certain countries as "An Axis of Evil"?
Most interesting of all, Dodd delves deep into an analysis of the two major political parties in this country, including their origins and their present status, showing how--among other things--the Republican party is no longer identified with the ideals of former members, such as Abraham Lincoln.
Throughout this groundbreaking new work, Dodd urges the reader to become more involved in politics and to hold our political leaders accountable for the decisions they make.
It's politics made simple!
